Let Your Guests Share Photos & Video Clips They Took at Your Quinceañera Event!
Creating a memorable Quinceañera is all about capturing moments that you’ll cherish for a lifetime. In the digital age, every guest can be a photographer, snapping candid shots and unique perspectives from the lens of a guest. Encouraging your guests to share the photos they take at your event can enrich your collection of memories. Here’s how you can facilitate this sharing in a fun and organized way!
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a substitute for professional photography and videography.
Initial Setup: Creating & accessing your Google Drive
You will need a google account for this. If you do not already have a google account, create one at https://accounts.google.com/signin
Download the Google Drive application from your appstore and sign in.
Follow the steps in the video below. The video will help you create a new folder in your Google Drive and enable permissions so anyone can upload event photos (please note: Participating guests must also have a Google account).
The QR Code: Set up a QR Code to your Google Drive
Once you have gone through the initial setup, the next step is to generate a QR Code. The purpose of the QR Code is for anyone to scan the QR Code, which will link them directly to Google Drive so they can easily upload photos to your share! Ideally, you would want to print the QR Code and place it at tables so your guests can scan it with their mobile devices.
In the video below, we have the Google Drive app opened and a web browser with https://qrcode-monkey.com open.
You are copying the share URL from the Google Drive folder you created from the initial step, then pasting it into the qrcode-monkey and then generating and downloading the QR Code for you to print. Check your Downloads directory on your mobile device to find the QR Code. If you cannot find it, search your mobile device for “qr-code.png”
Uploading photos: Sharing is Caring!
Once you have your QR Code, you can simply print the QR Code on a piece of paper and simple instructions so your guests know what the QR Code is for! For example “Please take as many awesome photos of the event and upload them by scanning the QR Code”. In my example, let’s just pretend that QR code is at a table!
I scanned the code with my mobile phone, clicked the link which opened up Google Drive, then I uploaded my event photos to the drive.
It’s that easy!
